Who are we?

Penarth Healthcare Partnership is a forward looking, innovative and sustainable GP practice in the seaside town of Penarth.  We have 9 doctors (8 partners) 5 nurses, 2 healthcare assistants and an in-house pharmacist. Three of our partners are lecturers with Cardiff University. We also have close links with the RCGP, LMC and Cardiff & Vale University Health Board through our partners other interests. Our patient list is circa 13500, we are the largest GP practice in the Eastern Vale Cluster, and we occupy a purpose built surgery, in a central location, which we hope to further enhance over the coming years to meet the wider needs of our patients and the community.  We currently train 1st, 2nd & 3rd year medical students and have plans to become a training practice within the next year, with a successful preliminary application already submitted to the Welsh Deanery.  We are the designated GP practice for the Waverley Care Home, although we have patients in other residential and nursing homes, and work closely with our cluster based clinical colleagues to provide care to our residential patients.

Who we are looking for?

We are creating a new role that we intend to develop to support the GPs response to both acute medicine and chronic disease monitoring. An important part of this role will be to increase our expertise in the area of, and the availability of, minor illness and GP Triage. The successful applicant will work closely with our doctors, nurses and pharmacist to provide outstanding care for our patients.  The role will not only enhance our patient care but also enable us to move forward with patient care to embrace changes in health care to make for a sustainable general practice for the future.  We would welcome applications from forward looking nurses with a will to improve the availability of primary care, to provide the highest standards of care to our patients and to work towards the future with a flexible and optimistic approach to patient care.  The successful applicant will work alongside our clinical team and our administrative staff to further the health and well-being of our patients.
