Due to a Partner emigrating to Australia, we are looking for a Salaried GP to join our team.  Penarth Healthcare Partnership formed on 1st October 2018 and we are looking forward to celebrating the tremendous progress we have made on our first birthday shortly! We have recently achieved training status and will be welcoming GP Registrars from August 2020.  We teach medical students from Years 1 to 4 including the chronic disease in the community blocks.

The Role

We are looking for a GP who will fit in with our enthusiastic and supportive team of seven partners, one salaried GP, Practice Pharmacist and excellent nursing team. You will benefit from the experience of peer support and mentoring in an environment where you will be supported to further develop your clinical skills and interests in line with your own career aspirations.

Penarth is a vibrant and friendly seaside town, voted one of the best places to live in the UK for several years running with excellent transport links, sports and leisure facilities, and nationally regarded schools. The leafy streets, its promenade with a pier, independent shops, fantastic restaurants (including Michelin star quality), excellent schools and just 10 minutes away from Wales’ exciting capital city of Cardiff, it’ll be easy to see why Penarth is the place to be!  

The People

Well-managed; supportive and responsive admin function committed to the new partnership; full nursing team including HCA and minor ailments.

Our partners are all experienced, open and supportive. We learn from each other and have regular clinical meetings.  We feel that having other interests helps to maintain a healthy mind. To this end, some of our other activities include teaching medical students, lecturing at the university, Health Board clinical director, medicines management, RCGP faculty officer, research interests, LMC member.

Additionally, our patients benefit from Cluster working in the form of cluster pharmacist and frailty nurse.

We already take 1st, 2nd & 3rd year students, and we can take 4th and 5th year students when required. We have been awarded GP training status and will be having our 1st GP Registrars from August 2020.

The Services

We offer a wide range of enhanced services to our patients including minor surgery, LARC / coil contraception, substance misuse, nursing home enhanced care, shared care monitoring, clinical research.
