About us
- We have 5 experienced doctors supported by an excellent clinical and administrative team.
- We are an experienced practice committed to the teaching and training of medical students from Cardiff University.
- We use Vision clinical system (migrating to EMIS)
- We are part of the South Easter Cluster [Collaborative] comprising of 8 practices. The surgery is located close to the city centre in the Cathays area with a mixed demographic and easily accessible with public transport.
We hold regular informal clinical team meetings in addition to an open-door policy for mentoring and advice
Clinical duties (dependent on training/experience)
- Phlebotomy
- BP checks
- ECG
- B12 injections
- Flu/pneumococcal/shingles immunisation
- Repeat dressing of wounds after assessment by a qualified nurse
- Suture removal
- INR checks
- Learning disability checks
- GP Lifestyle advice and smoking cessation advice
- Chronic disease management: - Carry out diabetic check’s pre-nurse review.
Although this lists the main clinical duties, there may be additional tasks requested
Administrative duties
- Stock check and ordering
- Cleaning, checking and calibration of equipment
- Stocking up clinical rooms and emptying clinical waste bins
- General housekeeping (tidying storerooms and clinical rooms, disposing of out of date stock and reporting to the appropriate person, putting stock and equipment away)
- Taking on specific roles as discussed with the team, e.g. flu champion.

Hours/Salary
Permanent position – 16 hours per week
Salary negotiated on experience
