We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team and participate in the HEIW Post Registration Foundation Program. This comprehensive two-year course, is designed for the development of recently qualified pharmacists, allows for a day off per week for focused study and culminates in an Independent Prescribing (IP) course and qualification.
The Afon Elai Partnership is a large multi site practice caring for 16,000 residents of South-West Cardiff. We are a merger of 2 longstanding and successful practices. Our two sites, Westway Surgery, Ely and Meddygfa Lansdowne Surgery, Canton are easily accessible from the M4. We now have an exciting opportunity for a post registration pharmacist to join our team and help shape the future of a new strong and sustainable practice. Our balanced clinical team consists of GP partners, salaried GPs, physician associates, practice pharmacist, practice nurses and health care assistants alongside an excellent team of patient care administrators providing care navigation and administrative support.
As a training practice we host registrars, medical students, general practice nurse trainees, foundation pharmacists and physician associate students and are committed to continuing professional development.

You would work under the supervision and support of a senior independent prescribing pharmacist as well as a team of GPs with protected self study time.
This role can be offered at full time or less than full time (80%).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide the day to day services of a community pharmacist
• Engage actively in the HEIW Post Registration Foundation Program, balancing practical experience with dedicated study days.
• Collaborate with experienced professionals to enhance your clinical knowledge and practical skills.
• Successfully complete the Independent Prescribing course and achieve the necessary qualification.
Requirements:
• Newly qualified pharmacist status with registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning and commitment to professional development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Flexibility to cross site work and adapt to new challenges.
