Treat Yourself This Christmas - The Practice of Health Christmas Tree

12 December 2018

Staff at The Practice of Health Surgery in Barry have been following the seasonal tradition of putting up their festive decorations in time for Christmas, but this year there is a twist; the tree is decked with self-care baubles.

Each of the tree’s decorations feature a minor ailment and an over the counter product that will allow patients to treat the problem at home, and without needing to wait for an appointment.

The practice hope that the decorations will raise awareness of self-care options and start up some discussions with patients about what treatments are available over the counter, as well as spreading a little Christmas cheer!

Cleona Jones, Practice Manager, saw a similar tree decorated with over the counter packaging on a Facebook post and decided that the practice needed their own. Data Input Clerk Jess thought it would be a great idea to create their own baubles and the whole team worked together to make the decorations and dress their two trees.

Reception Manager Chloe will be putting the finishing touches to them by adding Christmas lights, but, the icing on the Christmas cake has to be the star that sits at the top of the tree that reads “Treat Yourself This Christmas”; a witty caption thought up by Medical Secretary Jo.

The team are already thinking of improvements for next year’s trees and are planning to grab some clear picture baubles in the January sales.
